How to Trap Flies, Gnats and Other House Flies
Fruit flies are really annoying pests, and once they get inside the house, they may spread and reproduce. In order to eliminate these insects, you don’t have to use pesticides. The method is cost effective, and will not be harmful to health.
Step 1
Once they enter the house, these flies have chance of falling prey inside your food. The better and safer way to eliminate these flies, is by using a mug or bowl trap.
Step 2
In order to get the best consensus of which object the flies are attracted to, find and tag the place that ideally fits the source. Once you tag the source, place the mug on a flat surface and pour in some white or red wine. Then add a few drops of liquid soap into the wine mixture and mix thoroughly. The wine should attract the flies, and the soap will do a good job of keeping the flies in the mug. You will be surprised how many flies will be trapped once the trap is complete and fixed.
Step 3
Finally, after the wine and soap mixture is mixed, cover the mug with clear plastic wrap or seran wrap. Be sure to cover the excess plastic around the bowl to eliminate any air pockets. Once the plastic is firmly fixed get a ball point pen or other utensil with the same pointing surface and poke five to six holes in the plastic wrap. These holes will provide a passage way for the flies to enter. Hardly any flies will be able to leave the fly trap.
